Bhutan National Bank Wins Best Bank Award in BIMSTEC Countries

Bhutan National Bank (BNB) was announced as the winner of the Best Bank Award at the Indian Chamber of Commerce  Emerging Asia Banking Conclave and Awards 2022 in Goa, India.
 BNB was recognized for its innovative products and services that have been beneficial to its clients and the banking industry. BNB Director Customer Experience Mr. Dorji Namgyal Rinchhen accepted the award on behalf of the bank.

The Indian Chamber of Commerce Emerging Asia Banking Conclave and Awards 2022 honors banks from BIMSTEC countries for their efficiency and best practices. These practices are expected to help the banking industry in the region to move forward and stay ahead in the competition.

Thimphu, September 10, 2025  – The Opposition Party has formally called on the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to launch an independent and thorough investigation into alleged irregularities in the disbursement of loans under Bhutan’s Economic Stimulus Program (ESP). The move follows widely circulated social media posts accusing prominent figures linked to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of misusing ESP loans through political favoritism, conflicts of interest, and possible abuse of power.
