 Remembering the Sacrifices of 1971

Bangladesh’s Independence Day is a tribute to the brave martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War, whose sacrifices paved the way for a sovereign nation. In his Independence Day message, President Mohammed Shahabuddin honored their legacy while calling for unity in building a prosperous, inclusive, and discrimination-free Bangladesh.

His vision aligns with Bhutan’s philosophy of Gross National Happiness (GNH), which prioritizes holistic well-being, justice, and environmental harmony. Both nations believe in progress with purpose, ensuring that development benefits all citizens.

#BhutanBangladeshBond:

Bangladesh’s impressive growth under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership—particularly in digital innovation, women’s empowerment, and poverty reduction—serves as an inspiration. Bhutan applauds these achievements and looks forward to deeper collaboration.
